Weekends Made Perfect
The old Kentucky country road led into the perfect sunset...
We rode in silence, taking it all in...
Feeling what it feels like when you are experiencing something miraculous.
We watched, in awe, as the master artist painted the western sky...
The word 'magnificent' came to mind, and I realized my vocabulary seemed limited.
'Magnificent' felt humdrum...
Not the right description for such a masterpiece.
As the setting sun started to descend over the rolling hills,
I believed my eyes saw the golden reflections of Heaven.
The golden amber hues mingled with deep magenta,
pale pink, and twilight blues...
In the fall harvest season, there is a scent in the air in western Kentucky.
It is a warm, rich, smoky scent...
One might think every home had a fire in the fireplace.
Drifting just above the hilltops, you will see smoke (like thin fog)
rising slowly from the tobacco barns, as they 'smoke' the tobacco leaves...
We drove along, feeling the 'moment'...
Being witness to miraculous beauty...
The sunset...
The painted sky...
The rolling hills...
The scent of autumn in Kentucky...
The white fences that have no end...
We had a destination...
Davinci's...
Davinci's at Novadell...
We arrived at our favorite spot to dine, just as the setting sun dropped into twilight...
I say divine Italian...
Homemade bread, with an olive dipping oil...
Eggplant Parmigiana for one...
It is served on a platter...
The music...
Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli...
