The path of life
is ever changing...
It leads us where we are suppose to go.
I am at peace knowing that.
We have traveled the world,
but now it is time to settle in...
Into the countryside...
The old country house has become a haven of peace for me.
Always.
Even in the storm of Dementia.
My mother has been ill for sixteen years,
and has now come home to live out her days surrounded by family.
A sick mind can still be a caring mind...
A soulful mind...
A beautiful mind...
Dementia can be smiles,
in the mist of confusion...
Dementia can be kindness,
in the mist of agitation...
Dementia can be peaceful...
Surround the space with beauty...
Books, flowers, music, delicious healthy food...
Laughter.
It says in the Psalms,
"God has given us the power to reclaim calm
in times of adversity."
Exercise that power.
Don't give away your joy.
Joel Osteen
Today I choose peace and joy.
The windows are open...
The birds are singing,
and homemade vegetable soups simmers on the stove.
The ceiling fans slowly turn,
and the cello music drifts through the soft southern breeze.
It is all well with my soul.
Blessings

The path of life. It can be so simple to very complex. Some paths are visible, some unseen. A trail of ants leading to something sweet spilled on the counter. Leaving a path but unseen. Rabbits entering and leaving a brush pile after a freshly fallen snow. A path that soon will be erased at the onset of warmer days. Paths made by wildlife, later by the red man, then the covered wagon, the railroad, interstate traffic. The path of airliners in the sky. The genetic path we follow from our ancestors. The path we sometimes follow from the work environment our friends and families expose us to. Many paths are again unseen, many last the length of a breath, some much longer, and then some are permanent as a scar. The path of life is the complex one. Many times we follow paths of life fore we believe it is our calling. Sometimes we steer clear of these paths because of something traumatic. Sometimes it is destined. The path our Mother's and Father's have traveled usually guide us. We are taught the right and the wrong the good and the bad. You are following the right path my friend. You have been lead by a caring hand. One day you will let go of those hands and lead others as I am sure you are doing now. Just another phase on our journey along the path of life.
I can feel your peaceful acceptance as I read this post and your love for your mother. You remind me that we need to live fully, every moment.
Thank you, both, for taking the time to leave a heartwarming comment. I really appreciate it, and it truly means so much.
Blessings...
